Retreat Dharma Talks at Dassanāya Buddhist Community

A Life of Embodied Intention

The Dhamma is often described as a process of simply letting go, dropping all the desires of a confused, limited self. Yet diligent effort is also a key aspect of the Noble Eightfold Path, and there are many teachings that encourage striving. How can we reconcile these teachings? Is there a way to practice that can avoid the pitfalls of clinging and struggle while retaining a sense of purpose and direction? This retreat will explore the role of choice and action on the Path of awakening.

During this retreat, we will explore the the roles of choice and action on the Path.
